why FCA Coastal volleyball club?
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes mission is to lead every coach and athlete...
... into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.
We aim to provide fun, high intensity practice sessions for teams ranging from middle school age to high school age to fuel each players love & passion for volleyball and increase their volleyball IQ and abilities. We strive to teach the love of the game and to create well-rounded players on the court, in the community, and in life. Well-rounded athletes have a love for their teammates and champion one another on and off the court. They develop themselves physically through age-appropriate strength and agility training, and they grow as leaders that lead by example and learn to love and serve others.

CLUB RULES
Club Rules
1. Treat everyone with respect. No bullying, harassing, use of foul language, etc. We want to maintain a Christ like environment and spread the love of Jesus. This applies to tournament play as well.
2. No foul language by the athlete or parent will be permitted. We represent Jesus in all that we do so we need to keep it clean at all times during practices and tournaments. NO EXCEPTIONS!
3. Spectators/parents can be issues a "purple card" for disrespectful behavior. Points can be awarded to the opposing team; a spectator can be forced to leave the venue, or other repercussions determined by the match's R1, or head official of the tournament.
4. Parents are not coaches. Please leave the coaching to us and enjoy this time to support your athlete and their teammates.
5. We have a 24 hour rule in that all incidents, problems, or concerns should be reported within proper chain of command. Player>Coach>Director AFTER 24 hours have passed. This rule is in place because conversations are most productive when not emotionally charged by either party.
6. Athletes are urged to speak to their coach directly with any questions or concerns they have.
7. Parents, please speak to your athletes coach directly before contacting the director.
8. Leave the practice facility better than we found it. Most gym spaces have been donated so we need to do our best to honor and respect their properties. Remove trash and belongings.
9. Bring your athlete Bible to all practices and tournaments for team huddle time.
10. Be as committed to the team as mush as you possibly can and other team events such as team meals.
11. Inform your coach as soon as possible if you are going to miss any practice or tournament so they have ample time to adjust.
12. Bring ALL jerseys to every tournament
13. We understand and respect that different families have different preferences when it comes to volleyball bottoms. We have left this open for each parent to make their own decision on what they would like their athlete to wear. The USAV rule states that the team has to wear all the same color on the bottom. Navy is the color we have chosen. You may wear leggings, shorts, or spandex. We ask that parents purchase 4 inch inseam spandex so that athletes bottoms are fully covered.
14. Players should wear their warm up pants over spandex when not playing.
15. As a club we will wear white knee pads in tournaments purchased by the athlete.
16. As a club we will wear white crew socks to all tournaments, purchased by the athlete.
17. If you get injured during play, please let your coach know immediately. This is especially true for head injuries. Your safety is of upmost importance.

It is also expected that parents contribute/participate in team meals whether that is a meal out or camping style at tournaments.
Team Practice
Practices for all teams are two times per week for 1.5 hours each practice. A practice schedule will be finalized for each team by mid-October.
Team Expectations
Each coach will communicate their team and parent expectations before and during the season.
